What would be the best method to seal laps on low pitch R-panel @ 1.3 degrees?
I’m building a 18ft x 27ft fre standing lean-to style patio cover. I want to keep the roof line within bouderies of existing facia on right side eave. This means it will have only a 5" drop over the 18ft length. I will be installing 91 degree end wall flashing to facia at top (lapping under existing 2" drip edge. I will be installing 90 degree side wall flashing to facia at right side lapping under 2′ drip edge as well. My concern is standing water of course. So i don’t know if the butyl srips on the crowns will be sufficient to prevent leaks. Thanks aheasd for any help.

Hi Mike,
Butyl tape is junk, and will not last.
What I would do is run a thick bead of solar seal 900 under each overlap, and seal each screw with it.
Also, highly recommend to have 1 piece panels (18′ long) and no overlaps! overlaps WILL leak..
Pay special attention ate roof to wall flashing – also use solar seal there.
Also crimp up the end of the panel that connects to the wall, so that if water does go under end-wall flashing, the bent end of the panel will prevent it from leaking.
5" over 18′ is not ideal, but is still a positive slope, and water WILL run off …
best of luck
