I am planning to re-roof with metal. I would like a copper color without sacrificing the "real" look of roof. What do you recommend for a metal, Florida approved product? Do you think a standing seam is too contemporary for the style of my custom built to look like a New England Cottage?
How do I send a photo of my house?
Deborah,
Hmmm … I don’t think standing seam is contemporary at all – it’s been used in roofing for centuries, including many homes in New England (where I live).
If you like the "copper color", do you mean natural copper or patina copper or aged copper?
There is a "copper color" paint, but it looks too fake for my liking … it’s more like Lamborghini orange …
If you want patina copper – most big standing seam makers have a "Patina Green" or similar tone.
If you want aged copper – brown(ish) but not yet patina, there is "multi-tone" standing seam (from several manufacturers) that has that type of color. It will look MOST REAL …
Finally you can go all copper – but that’s insanely expensive.
