hi. in the mid 80’s my dad came home with a couple white foam panels, he said they were for roofing insulation. they were maybe 4’x4′ square, and 3 or 4 inches thick. they were heavy, but soft and rubbery, floppy and difficult to carry as children. we used them as swimming rafts out in the lakes in michigan. i am trying to find some. any idea what i am talking about? these things could hold the weight of several kids. never got waterlogged. best lake rafts ever.
Bill,
It’s most likely XPS insulation – home depot / lowe’s sells it as pink/blue/green board.
However, you won’t find anything over 2" thick at home improvement stores.
Call commercial roofng suppliers or commecial contractors to see if they have some 3-4" XPS to sell you… I don’t know what you need it for, but assume to use a s some swimming device 🙂
